Our Story

Epeli, born and raised in Fiji, and Keila, whose family is from American Samoa, found each other through a shared love of the ocean. Their connection through diving grew into a deeper bond that led them to marriage and the creation of their business, Kai Wai, meaning 'from the ocean' in Fijian. Inspired by their backgrounds and the spirit of Polynesia, they pour their passion into everything they create, with the hope of sharing that same connection and meaning with you.

Each piece is handcrafted with intention, inspired by the ocean's rhythm and the timeless beauty of Polynesian heritage. For centuries shells have been used as a symbol in Polynesia of status, protection, and spirituality. We create jewelry that carries meaning and is designed to be worn, cherished, and passed down.
